I was surprised at first. I’d assume that New Yorkers would be # 1 because NYC is the city that never sleeps, isn’t it?
My current hometown area, Huntington, West Virginia has been ranked in the top ten cities for several big issues, including:
- smoking cigarettes,
- obesity, and
- tooth loss.
And of course, many people already know that in general, West Virginia is not a state with an abundance of wealth.
I love West Virginia and the mountains.
I love to see the rolling hills and mountains when I’m driving back home to West Virginia from far away places. I feel comfortable here.
Naturally, I want to help make it a better West Virginia.
I plan to write another best-selling book and 100% of the profits are going to go towards helping West Virginia.
Here are some tips from your favorite rec therapist, Danny P.:
- eat healthy
- take a daily walk
- do meditation and deep breathing
- avoid fast food. Hello, "Super Size Me" was filmed by a guy from Beckley, West Virginia.
- get a good night sleep (use deep breathing)
- focus on gratitude
- stop smoking
- brush teeth daily - try to see a dentist twice a year.
- Take advantage of Jamie’s Kitchen! Jamie Oliver is a world-renewed chef and he’s trying to help the people of Huntington, West Virginia. The city has been labeled one of the unhealthiest in the nation. Jamie is teaching people how to cook healthy. These classes are free. They’re offered 10 a.m., 2 p.m., and 4 p.m. It is located at Pullman Square in Huntington.
I understand that many people in West Virginia lack health insurance. As a result, they don't receive the medical treatment for issues they need.
