Jobs in dropped .5 percent in 100 of the major metro areas from the second quarter to the third quarter of 2009. Overall number of jobs dropped in the United States .5 percent.
Good news, 11 metro areas saw job growth and West Virginia was one of them.
The Washington, D.C. (Arlington – Alexandria – Maryland – West Virginia) metro area grew by .1 percent compared the majority of metro areas that dropped .5 percent.
The eastern panhandle area of West Virginia is rapidly growing.
