A colony of Britain
The British Colony of Virginia was one of the first known English colonies in the New World. The colony was massive in size. It included all of Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana, and Illinois. Part of Ohio was considered part of Virginia as well. West Virginia was part of this colony from 1607–1776. The Colonies had won their independence in 1776.
