41. What is the oldest town in West Virginia?

Answer: Romney or Shepherdstown

Shepherdstown was founded in 1762. There was a bill in the Virginia House of Burgesses that presented Romney as being incorporated 6 days prior to Shepherdstown. Both towns argue claim to being the oldest town in the state. Of course, both towns are about 100-years older than the state government of West Virginia.
